PRESS RELEASE
Liberty University Joins National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, America's largest Christian
School partners with the Preeminent Hispanic Faith Organization to educate Latino Christians
(Washington, D.C., Hispanic Christian Newswire) America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The
National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals,
announced today a strategic partnership agreement with the World's largest Evangelical University,
Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Va.
"Our desire is to see Hispanic Born Again Christians mobilized on both the vertical and horizontal
planes of the Cross, preaching salvation and transforming their communities. This can only transpire
via the platform of Top Tier education, thus, our partnership with Liberty. Liberty is the premier
institution for Evangelical and Christian education. It's a natural fit", declared Rev. Samuel
Rodriguez, NHCLC President.
Rodriguez recently addressed Liberty University at a recent Convocation challenging the students
and faculty to reconcile and live out the entire message of the Cross. Liberty University will
work with the NHCLC in intentional recruitment and equipping of next generation Multi-ethnic
Christian leadership as the face of American Evangelicalism continues to change rapidly, according
to Pew Research and the Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Christian Leadership.
Recent surveys from both institutes demonstrate the need for educational models that attract the
fastest growing demographic of the Christian Church in American and the Western Hemisphere, Hispanic
Evangelicals.
"This partnership is historic and prophetic", stated Dr. Gilbert Velez, National NHCLC Chairman.
"Our children can study in an environment that resonates with their biblical worldview", he added.
Dr. Jesse Miranda, Chief Executive of the NHCLC, an organization that serves close to 20,000
churches and a constituency of approximately 16 million Hispanic Christians, sees the partnership
and the emphasis on education as the primary concern for the Hispanic Evangelical community as it
pertains to fostering next generation leadership that can holistically live and execute the Gospel.
"Educators must seek different models and delivery mechanisms in order to incorporate the cultural
and ethno complexities of our communities in order to formulate instruction that is both viable and
sustainable", explained Miranda.
NHCLC and Liberty will work on increasing Hispanic enrollment, scholarship opportunities, on-line
courses and other means to educate the future of American Evangelicalism in America, Hispanic
Born Again Christians.

Dear NHCLC member,
Good news! The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference is developing a win-win
partnership with Liberty University Online, the largest evangelical university in the world,
to provide members with a wide range of Christian-based education via the Internet. "As a
national and global institution with a multi-faceted curriculum, Liberty offers Latinos
unprecedented opportunity for Christ-centered education," said NHCLC president Samuel Rodriguez.
In October, Mr. Rodriguez, spoke at Liberty's convocation on campus in Lynchburg, Va., and
shared moments from his Christian upbringing, his testimony as a young adult and his unquenchable
passion for spiritual revival (click here to see Mr. Rodriguez's convocation message). "When
our students heard Mr. Rodriguez speak, it was obvious that the NHCLC and Liberty were on the
same page," said Liberty's Executive Director of Global Development, Orland Lobaina; "our common
emphases on family, faith and higher education make this partnership a natural fit."
Why has the NHCLC chosen Liberty University as the "university of choice" for its members?
- Liberty offers more than 35 accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, criminal justice, nursing, religion and more. With a flexible online format you can work at your own pace and on your schedule and still meet obligations to family, work and ministry.

LU partners with Hispanic Christian organization
posted the Liberty Journal
Monday, January 19, 2009 by Paul McLinden
This past week Liberty University forged a strategic partnership with the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the largest Hispanic Christian organization in America which represents nearly 20,000 churches and approximately 16 million Hispanic Christians. Liberty will work with the NHCLC to help its members continue their education through Liberty University Online or at LU’s campus in Lynchburg, Va. This partnership will effectively make LU the school of choice for thousands of Latino-Americans.
"Our desire is to see Hispanic born-again Christians mobilized on both the vertical and horizontal planes of the cross, preaching salvation and transforming their communities," said the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, NHCLC president. "This can only transpire via the platform of top-tier education."
Rodriguez spoke at Liberty’s convocation this past October and invigorated students with his unshakeable testimony and passion for spiritual revival.
"When our students heard Mr. Rodriguez speak, it was obvious that the NHCLC and Liberty were on the same page," said Liberty’s Executive Director of Global Development, Orlando Lobaina. "Our common emphasis on family, faith and higher education make this partnership a natural fit."
Tracking demographic trends, both Liberty and the NHCLC saw a greater demand for higher education among Hispanic evangelicals who, according to the NHCLC, represent the fastest growing demographic of the Christian church in America and the Western hemisphere.
"This partnership is historic and prophetic," said Dr. Gilbert Velez, National NHCLC Chairman. "Our children can study in an environment that resonates with their biblical worldview."
