Gus Reyes, William Hernandez and Daniel Guajardo Join National Board of America's Preeminent Hispanic Christian Organization

(Washington, D.C., Hispanic Christian Newswire) America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, announced today the addition of three prominent Hispanic Evangelical leaders to the National Board of Directors: Dr. Gus Reyes (Texas Baptist Convention Hispanic Director), Dr. William Hernandez (Church of God Pentecostal International Movement) and Dr. Daniel Guajardo (Oral Roberts University).

"These three leaders speak to the increasing convergence of the academy and the church. Each brings to the National team experience, wisdom and a commitment to both the Great Commission and biblical justice. We are blessed to have them as part of our National Team," declared Dr. Gilbert Velez, NHCLC Board Chair.

Dr. Gus Reyes oversees the Hispanic churches for the Texas Baptist Convention. Reyes oversees and represents over 1,200 churches. He stands as a well respected leader and an advocate to both evangelism and addressing the social needs of the community.

Dr. William Hernandez oversees the largest denomination in the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico where close to 600 churches saturate the island with the leadership mantle of the Pentecostal and Charismatic experience in the region. Hernandez worked as a pharmaceutical executive prior to his pastoral and denominational leadership role. Hernandez oversees a denomination that includes its own television and radio network.

Correspondingly, Dr. Daniel Guajardo, Oral Roberts University Vice President for Student Development joins the national Hispanic evangelical team representing the senior partner of the Association's Education directive. Guajardo stands committed in partnership with the NHCLC to increase the Hispanic enrollment at O.R.U to 25% in the next seven years.

Conference President, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez expressed enthusiasm at the announcement of the new board members. "Drs. Reyes, Hernandez and Guajardo each bring to the table expertise, passion and a commitment to reformation of the Hispanic American Church that prioritizes the fulfillment of the Great Commission while simultaneously addressing issues of Justice such as immigration reform, education, teen pregnancy, and poverty. We are blessed to have them as part of our team".

The new board members will participate in the annual board convention to be held in Dallas, Texas on March 23, 2010.

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference stands as America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization serving 25,434 churches by providing leadership, networking, partnerships, fellowship and advocacy platforms to the Seven Directives of Life, Family, Great Commission, Stewardship, Education, Youth and Justice.
