In an interview with Christian evangelist Samuel Rodriguez, head of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, author and conservative leader Glenn Beck said that people in America today are “worshiping” the demon-gods Baal and Moloch, “just in a different way” than in the past, a point that Rodriguez agreed with, saying, “We’re there.”
“Many of us, meaning many Christian leaders, have had a conversation about there’s a great probability that in our lifetime – not just our children or children’s children – in our lifetime, that we may have to be imprisoned and suffer great persecution, prosecution, as a result of our commitment to biblical truth, to Jesus, to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,” said Rodriguez on the April 6 edition of the Glenn Beck Program on The Blaze TV.
“We are there, my friend. That’s not hyperbole.” Said Rodriguez, author of the new book, Be Light: Shining God’s Beauty, Truth, and Hope Into a Darkened World.
“I mean, the writing is on the wall, the proverbial writing is on the wall,” he said. “Elections matter. Political leaders matter.”
Beck then interjected, “It’s not just political leaders now – we have the Supreme Court in play. That changes everything.”
Rodriguez continued, “In this election, at the end of the day, we have – we have in this election the probability of possibly voting in — without mentioning nay names now, speaking spiritually and metaphorically – we may be voting in a Jezebel or an Ahab.”
“What happens?” said Rodriguez. “It’s the altars of Baal and the government requiring me to sacrifice truth on the altar of Baal.”
“If people would just look up Baal and Moloch from the Scriptures, we are worshiping them right now, we just don’t know it, just in a different way,” said Beck.
“You used to have to sacrifice your children; you were promoted, it was promoted to have sexual intercourse,” he said. “And if you got pregnant, you brought the baby to the altar and you killed the baby. I mean, it’s the same thing. It was worship the god of finance, the god of war and the god of the earth. I mean, we’re there!”
Rodriguez replied, “We’re there.”
