White evangelicals continue to support President Trump at nearly the same amount since the 2016 election. A recent Pew poll shows 78% approve of his job performance, just a few points off from the 81% of white evangelicals who voted for him. Evangelical leaders have been mostly silent or offered the President a pass in the wake of accusations of infidelity prior to his presidency. Yet, the Latino evangelical pastor leading the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference says he sees an opportunity to work with the president, on issues such as immigration, abortion and religious freedom. Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, an informal adviser to Trump, joins Soledad O’Brien to discuss separating the political agenda from a candidate’s personal moral turpitude and why he believes he is on a mission from God.
