NHCLC Endorses “COURAGEOUS” – Honor Begins At Home Opens In Theaters Nationwide September 30 Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Rodriguez attended the Red Carpet private screening of “Courageous” on Friday, August 26, in Atlanta at the historic Fox Theater and after reviewing the movie would like to endorse and encourage our NHCLC churches and families to go to the theaters for the OPENING WEEKEND of COURAGEOUS: Honor Begins At Home and enjoy a date night or a fun evening out with friends and family as this movie is sure to be a fall theater blocbuster. When we, as believers, show up on the opening weekend of a strong, excellent, “family-friendly” movie such as COURAGEOUS it gives HOLLYWOOD a strong signal that this is what is going to sell which in turn encourages Hollywood to make more “family-friendly” movies. Let’s support Courageous this weekend! Brief Synopsis of Courageous: Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God … and to their children? Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children. Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That’s courageous. One of the main charaters in the film is ROBERT AMAYA. Robert Amaya is a professional stage actor in Miami and a volunteer worship leader and children’s ministry actor at his church in Coral Gables. The father of a young daughter, Robert was drawn to the role of Javier, a new friend to the group of officers and a God-honoring father. COURAGEOUS is his first film. Robert’s hopes for the movie: “I hope that fathers are inspired to rise up and take back their roles as dads. I pray that God would touch men around the world and inspire them to trust in our Heavenly Father. I specifically hope that Latino men and woman are touched and moved by the Martinez family. The Latino family needs God desperately.” Wondering how important dads are in the family. Take a look at this video and then get ready to see Courageous when it comes to theaters on September 30. Please pray for the impact Courageous will have on families when it opens in theaters on Friday. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!” See you at the movies this weekend! READ MORE:…
