Obama Vows To Fix The Country’s Broken Immigration System

From the Virginia Chapter of the NHCLC: Today Hispanic leaders (both Spiritual and Secular) from Hampton Roads met with Congressman Scott Rigell, representative of the 2nd Congressional District in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Among several issues that were discussed were: Comprehensive Immigration Reform The Dream Act Economic Impact Hispanics are having Guest Worker Program including many personal testimonies from local pastors of what is happening in the Hispanic community in Hampton Roads. Congressman Rigell was informed of our upcoming and first ever NHCLC Virginia Conference taking place in October. The number of Hispanics in our area has double in the last 10 years as we now close in on 200,000. Chapter Director Rev. Tony Suarez said, “On behalf of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, I want to personally thank Congressman Scot Rigell for taking time to sit down with Latino leaders from across Hampton Roads to discuss issues pertinent to our community. We look forward to future meetings with Congressman Rigell and admire his willingness to sit and discuss these issues. Attending the meeting were: Congressman Scott Rigell Rev. Christian Jacome, Pastor of Aliento de Fe in Chesapeake, VA and Navy Veteran Rev. Juan Milla, Pastor of Nueva Vida and Christian Counselor
