NHCLC Appoints Pastor David Scarpeta as Director of the Spiritual Health Initiative

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), recognized by international media outlets as the largest Hispanic Christian organization in the Americas, announced the appointment of Pastor David Scarpeta as Director of the Spiritual Health Initiative, under the NHCLC’s Center for Ministerial Health, one of the organization’s key strategic divisions.

The announcement was met with enthusiasm among Hispanic evangelical leadership, highlighting the NHCLC’s commitment to the holistic well-being of pastors and influential leaders through a comprehensive model that addresses spiritual, mental, physical, financial, and relational health.

The Center for Ministerial Health drives five key initiatives: Spiritual Health, focused on discipleship, spiritual formation, and the devotional life of leaders; Financial Health, promoting pastoral economic sustainability; Mental Health, strengthening leaders’ emotional and psychological well-being; Physical Health, emphasizing care for the body as part of the ministerial calling; and Relational Health, dedicated to restoring family life and fostering healthy church communities.

A Leader with Continental Influence

Born in Colombia, David Scarpeta is a worship leader, speaker, and lead pastor of Grace Español Houston, one of the fastest-growing Hispanic churches in the United States. His messages reach more than 25 million people each year through digital platforms, radio, and television. He also leads the Round Table Latino movement, a mentoring network that connects more than 400 pastors, entrepreneurs, and leaders across the U.S. and Latin America.

“We believe that now more than ever, God is uniting leaders, movements, organizations, and ministries for one common purpose: to prepare His Church for the greatest time of growth and expansion in history,” said Scarpeta. “The NHCLC is key to what God is doing in the U.S. and Latin America, particularly in the holistic care of pastors and influential leaders. For Round Table Latino, it is an honor to join forces with the NHCLC, and I am confident we will see pastors, ministers, and leaders who are strong, healthy, and prosperous in every way. We are here to serve the body of Christ and our communities.”

A Movement Focused on Ministerial Health

Rev. Samuel Rodríguez, president of the NHCLC, celebrated the appointment, emphasizing Scarpeta’s impact on the global Hispanic Church.

“David Scarpeta represents a new generation of pastors passionate about the holistic health of Hispanic leadership. His authenticity, vision, and commitment to spiritual formation will strengthen our mission to equip strong leaders who serve with excellence and purpose.”

With this addition, the NHCLC reinforces its mission to equip spiritual leaders to thrive in their calling, foster healthy communities, and strengthen churches centered on Scripture, worship, and service.
