Today at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Conference, Vicki VannBerstein, President & CEO of America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU), and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), released a joint statement voicing strong support for the Dignity Act, a bipartisan immigration reform bill aimed at establishing a fair, commonsense, and compassionate framework for America’s immigration system.
Speaking together during a press availability at NRB, VannBerstein and Rodriguez emphasized the moral, economic, and humanitarian imperative of advancing immigration solutions that honor both the rule of law and the dignity of every individual.
Joint Statement
As faith leaders and Christian institutions committed to human flourishing, we strongly support the Dignity Act as a meaningful step toward restoring order, compassion, and common sense to America’s broken immigration system.
Immigrants contribute immeasurably to our communities, congregations, and economy. Yet for decades, our nation has lacked a functional, humane policy framework—resulting in uncertainty for families, exploitation for vulnerable workers, and ongoing challenges at our borders.
The Dignity Act embodies principles long affirmed by the Christian community: respect for the law, protection of the vulnerable, opportunity for those who contribute, and pathways that reflect both justice and mercy. It rejects extremes and instead embraces bipartisan cooperation, something desperately needed in today’s climate.
We call on lawmakers, faith leaders, and community partners to engage constructively and urgently. Now is the time for durable, bipartisan immigration solutions that reflect the best of our nation’s values.
