Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), joined a group of prominent faith leaders in the Oval Office yesterday to pray with and for the President of the United States during a moment of significant global responsibility and national leadership.

The gathering, facilitated by Pastor Paula White-Cain and Jennifer Korn of the White House Faith Office, brought together several core faith leaders—many of whom were part of the original coalition of Christian leaders who stood together in 2016—to intercede for the President and the nation.

During the time together, the leaders prayed for wisdom, protection, and guidance for the President as he leads the country through a complex and consequential moment in world affairs.

The prayer gathering occurred as the President continues to serve as Commander-in-Chief during a major military campaign, Operation Epic Fury, in which U.S. forces are targeting Iranian Regime infrastructure and missile capabilities.

Rodriguez described the gathering as a powerful reminder that faith continues to play an important role in moments of national leadership.

“This meeting was a powerful moment of spiritual unity and intercession. Even in the midst of global conflict and immense responsibility, the Oval Office was opened for prayer,” said Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC). “Leadership at the highest level ultimately requires dependence upon God, wisdom beyond human understanding, and the covering of prayer.”

Faith leaders prayed for the President, the United States, members of the armed forces, and for God’s guidance during what they described as a critical hour for the nation and the world.

“This moment served as a reminder that faith still has a place in the highest rooms of leadership,” Rodriguez added, “and that prayer remains one of the most powerful acts we can offer on behalf of our nation.”
