Miracles Happen

In March 2010, Dan Oien was in his home when he began having seizures. The 62-year-old man was alone and frightened.

Oien decided to call someone for help, but his muscle contractions caused him to dial the wrong number.

Oien unintentionally called Aquarius Arnolds, a local college student. Arnolds had a policy of not answering calls with an unknown caller ID but suddenly felt impressed to make an exception and take the call.

Arnolds later said that after she answered, she heard a garbled voice that made no sense. But instead of disconnecting, she felt she had to continue,

Arnolds asked if the other person was in trouble and heard a confused “yes”. Thinking fast, Arnolds disconnected and called 911. She gave the number from her phone ID and reported an emergency.

Within minutes the dispatcher traced the phone. Paramedics rushed to the house, broke down the door, found Oien and took him to hospital. Their intervention saved his life.

A friend of Oien, in an interview, expressed amazed wonder that Oien had accidentally called a stranger who answered a call she normally would have refused who knew what to do to save him. The friend simply said that it was God who had engineered everything.

Always call on God when you need help. He is always the God of miracles.

The Bible says in Luke 18:27, “Jesus replied, What is impossible with man, is possible with God.” NIV
