On Monday, March 17, the Hispanic Evangelical Ministers Association of Washington, D.C. (AEMH), in collaboration with the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), hosted an inspiring Pastors’ Dinner, an event that brought together dozens of ministry leaders in an atmosphere of fellowship, unity, and spiritual edification.
Designed especially for pastoral couples, the gathering provided a space for strengthening and valuable resources aimed at ministerial well-being. Pastor Joel Galán, president and executive director of NHCLC DMV, delivered a key message, sharing practical tools for the spiritual and emotional health of pastors, emphasizing the importance of mutual support within the ministerial body.
“The work that AEMH & NHCLC are doing in the D.C. area is bearing historic fruit. Ministerial unity is growing stronger, and pastoral involvement has become increasingly tangible,” said Pastor Joel Galán, highlighting the impact of these gatherings on the pastoral community.
Additionally, NHCLC National Director, Pastor Robert Albino, provided a crucial update on immigration issues affecting Hispanic congregations, offering relevant information for church leaders. During the evening, Pastor Jonathan Avendaño was also officially introduced as a new member of the AEMH & NHCLC DMV Chapter leadership team, reinforcing the organizations’ commitment to pastoral growth and strengthening.
One of the evening’s most significant announcements was the introduction of a special program offering pastors the opportunity to receive a $60,000 grant for a sabbatical, an initiative designed to promote rest, renewal, and the strengthening of church leaders.
“The resources provided to pastors were incredible. The upcoming initiatives promise to continue advancing God’s Kingdom in the DMV area,” said Pastor Juan Chavez, emphasizing the impact of these initiatives on the pastoral community.
The event also reflected the growing spirit of unity and fellowship among pastors in the region. “There is a vibrant sense of camaraderie among Washington, D.C. pastors. I appreciate the work being done, which is opening doors for us to get more deeply involved in Kingdom work,” shared Pastor Manuel Silie.
The Pastors’ Dinner was more than just a gathering—it was a moment of great impact for the Hispanic ministerial community in the Washington, D.C. area, reaffirming NHCLC and AEMH’s commitment to supporting and equipping those who dedicate their lives to the service of the Gospel.
