Financial Health Initiative

The Financial Health Initiative, a component of the Center for Ministerial Health (CMH) of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), exists to encourage and equip pastors to make sound financial decisions that strengthen both their personal well being and their long term effectiveness in ministry. By addressing financial health, this initiative seeks to help pastors lead their families, churches, and communities with greater stability, focus, and freedom to fulfill their calling.

Why This Initiative Matters

During a recent NHCLC study involving key leaders representing more than 1,600 churches, important financial realities among pastors were identified:

Why This Initiative Matters

The Financial Health Initiative seeks to strengthen pastors through practical tools and strategic support, including:

Financial Literacy Training

Courses and resources designed to equip pastors with practical financial knowledge and tools that can lead to long term financial stability for their households and ministries.

Biblical Financial Stewardship

Partnerships with trusted financial literacy organizations to provide stewardship resources that pastors can apply personally and share within their congregations, encouraging healthy financial practices and biblical generosity.

Pastoral Financial Relief

Support for qualifying pastors experiencing financial hardship through strategic financial assistance.

Eligible pastors may apply to receive up to a $2,500 financial relief grant. Every grant dollar we provide requires an equal matching amount. As such, a $2,500 grant can become a $5000 grant. One of our representatives can further discuss the process upon application. .

Financial and Practical Solutions

As part of the financial health journey, pastors and leaders around the country are able to gain access to:

  • Digital financial platform to help organize and restructure their finances and provide the necessary tools for long-term financial success.
  • Multiple sessions with a licensed financial advisor
  • Access to topics and workshops for the pastor, leaders, and church members.
  • Resources for entrepreneurs and how they connect to the local church vision.

Regional on-site Seminars

Due to the spill-over effect between finances and mental health, we are hosting a series of in-person seminars around the country that will address Leaders, Finances, and their Mental Health.
