Dreams can come True

Bouquet with a yellow sunflower, blue roses, and red and white flowers tied with a patriotic ribbon.

Carl Price loved shopping for bargains at thrift stores. He was especially attracted to framed paintings.

When Carl bought a painting, he took a picture and sent it to Christie’s Auction House in New York City. The auction house declared all the paintings worthless.

Carl continued his bargain hunting for three years with each piece a disappointment. By 1996 he had acquired 500 paintings.

In 1996, Carl was at an estate sale when he saw a painting of roses for $10. He liked roses so he purchased the painting. As he was leaving, he saw another picture of flowers and bought it for $50.

Carl followed his usual procedure and sent photos of the paintings to Christie’s. But this time, instead of the typical rejection, he received a letter asking if the vice-president of the auction house could come to them to see the pieces personally.

The vice-president arrived, examined the paintings and told Carl and his wife that they were authentic works by a famous 19th century artist. They paid the happy couple 1 million dollars for the two paintings.

Carl pursued his dream until the dream came true. If you believe God has planted a dream in your heart, never give up until it happens.

The Bible says in Proverbs 13:19, “It is pleasant to see dreams come true…” NLT
