Sometimes someone will send me a story so remarkable that I immediately want to give it to you as a Ballpoint.
My son-in-law, Dr. Asa Swan, called me this morning about his Uncle Dale’s recent experience.
Asa’s uncle serves as pastoral support for individuals hospitalized with serious illnesses. He had met with a terminally ill woman and her policeman son. The son, out of great love for his mother, arranged his schedule to be with her when she died. Her son knew his mother was a committed Christian but still asked God for a sign that she was in Heaven.
The woman died at 10:23 that morning and the son was sharing his request to God with Dale that afternoon. As he spoke with the pastor, he suddenly realized that God had answered his prayer.
As a police officer he remembered that at 10:23, the exact time of his mother’s death is also police code for “safe arrival at destination “. The son realized that God had used a code the policeman would recognize to assure him of his mother’s “safe arrival at destination”.
It was God calling.
The Bible says in Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants “. NIV
