Recently Amy and I were praying for a specific amount of money to help fund a ministry project.
Over two months we contacted several supporters who had been generous benefactors in the past. Everyone was polite and caring, but none were able to help.
Amy and I went back to God in prayer and reexamined the project to make sure we were right about God’s direction. After this time of prayer, we emerged even more convinced that we were on the right path.
As the final funding deadline approached, we trusted God and waited. The day before the project had to be funded, we again asked God to provide.
After no response from anyone, we moved into the evening of the final day. We reaffirmed our dependence on God and ate dinner. The deadline was the next morning. The mail had arrived earlier, the banks were closed and all our ideas were exhausted.
We were seated on our living room couch when someone knocked on our door. I opened the door to see one of our dearest friends standing on the front porch.
I asked him in, but he said he had to go somewhere. He said that an hour earlier he and his wife had both sensed that God was telling them to do something.
He then handed me an envelope and said that God had directed him to bring it me. He then left.
I returned to the living room, told Amy what had happened, then opened the envelope. Inside was a check for the EXACT AMOUNT we had prayed for.
We immediately rejoiced in God’s love and provision.
God knows what you need before you even ask. He will provide and guide you. You can always trust God.
The Bible says in Philippians 4:19, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” NIV
